Rv city water connection check valve leaking.
In many cases a break or leak in an rv water supply line is often a literal snap to repair.
Pex stands for cross linked polyethylene.
First you ll want to check that the water pressure isn t too high.
Sure enough once i got the.
If turning the water down makes the leaking stop and still allows for adequate water pressure inside the rv this was likely your problem and turning the pressure down is a great temporary solution.

It could be a bad fitting bad connection cracked water line crack in the hot water tank water valve on rear of toilet leaking etc.
The valve is designed to let pressured city water enter the rv s plumbing system when hooked to a charged hose bib via your water hose in an rv park and prevent the water pump from pumping water out of your potable water tank onto the ground when not hooked to a charged hose bib.
With the pump off you may be able to reseat it by pressing the ball in slightly and letting it snap back a few times.
The city water connection has a check valve that s intended to prevent the back flow when the pump is running.
I figured what was happening is the check valve was leaking due to a dislodged worn or damaged o ring.
That s because the water lines in most rvs are plastic pex pipe.
Inside is a plastic check valve plunger a spring retaining clip and small rubber o ring.
Sometimes the little ball gets gummed up and doesn t seat correctly.
When this happens water from the city water connection can flow backwards through the pump and into the freshwater tank.
Often times that valve will leak allowing city water into the tank.
Open all cabinets in the area check under the sink and behind the toilet.
Our city water connection has been weeping water when using the onboard water pump and fresh water tank for dry camping.
There is a one way check valve inside of the water pump and this often gets dislodged and stuck open.
